Hinsdale Cemetery

Hinsdale, Massachusetts

These photos were taken May 8, 2004.  The older gravestones in this cemetery are primarily marble and unfortunately, damaged -probably from acid rain. There are some lovely stones in this cemetery with very nice imagery. The urn and willow are predominating themes in this cemetery and the predominant material is marble. Many of the stones have epitaphs that are partially or completely unreadable due to decay.

Many of the stones have circular motifs. Mrs Philura was the 'consort' of John Putnam.

A boy named Dolphin

A zinc monument. All zinc monuments were made in Bridgeport, CT.
